So is the USB port dead or is there a way to revive it. How satisfied are you with this reply? Uninstall and reinstall printer drivers and check.
Azeez N Replied on August 2, Primarily, Lexmark e should install automatically without extra software. Thinking that hsb USB port on the printer has died I rang Lexmark tech support and the guy said he has heard of a few E’s that have this problem and told me the only solution was to buy a new controller card which actually costs more than the printer.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software at least six times and it still will not work. This thread is locked. Thanks for marking this as the answer.

I’ve seen a few of those where the center portion was missing. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. They are available, but really difficult to replace even if you do know how to solder.
Do you see any error code or yellow bang in the device manager? Lexmark e I can not get the above printer to work with Windows 7 no matter what I download it does not work.
I know this is a problem with the lexmatk as the drivers have been installed properly in Windows XP and one of the E’s does infact work on USB while the other one doesn’t.

Hi there, My Lexmark E hardly used had that “USB device not recognised” problem and I was given a used replacement as it uwb still under warranty.
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has lexmwrk and Windows does not recognize it. Sorry this didn’t help. There was an error processing your information. Does the printer power on at all I would assume it does, since you didn’t mention that it does not Maybe time to junk this Lexmark ?
